Hi, I’m Mel!

I started Reverie Fabrics because I wanted a space that celebrated the vibrant, slightly chaotic, and deeply fun side of modern making.

My sewing journey actually started with bagmaking—obsessing over hardware, structure, and killer linings—before I fell headfirst into the world of modern quilting a few years ago. Today, my sewing machine is my ultimate reset button. For me, stitching is a form of active meditation and a non-negotiable mental health break. Give me a great audiobook, a stack of vibrant prints, and a quiet moment, and I am in my absolute happy place.

I also passionately believe that quilting shouldn't feel intimidating, exclusive, or gatekept. Creativity is for everyone! When I’m not running the shop, you can usually find me teaching intro classes on the weekends, helping new makers build their confidence one straight line at a time.

When I’m not obsessively curating color palettes, packing up orders, or teaching, I’m usually:

• Packing for retreats: Heading off to open sews with a tote bag crammed full of projects (and zero intent to finish only one).
• At the sewing table: Alternating between slow stitching, statement bags, and bold modern quilts.
• In real life: Trying to squeeze in "just one more seam," ignoring my laundry pile, and fully defending fabric petting as a legitimate form of self-care.

Reverie is an online-only shop built by a maker, for makers. I hand-select every collection, bundle, and tool with modern quilters, bagmakers, and stitchers in mind.
